About The Position
Baptist Health is hiring a Registered Nurse for the Cardiac Surgical Progressive Care Team at Baptist Downtown in Jacksonville, Florida. This full-time, day-shift role provides care for patients with postoperative open-heart and thoracic lung cases. Nurses provide care to patients requiring treatment for medical, surgical, and other conditions, including chronic medical conditions and minor injuries or illnesses. The role also involves educating patients and families about disease processes and plans of care, working with physicians and other hospital departments, advocating for patients, and participating in staff meetings and other unit activities. A $2,500 sign-on bonus is offered.
Requirements
- At least 1 year of clinical nursing experience.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
- Licensed Registered Nurse required.
- Associate of Science in Nursing required.
Responsibilities
- Provide care to patients requiring treatment of medical, surgical, or other conditions, including chronic medical conditions and minor injuries or illnesses.
- Embrace and uphold the hospital mission statement.
- Educate patients and families about disease processes and plans of care.
- Interact with physicians and other hospital departments.
- Serve as a patient advocate.
