About The Position

The Emergency Nurse works in the Emergency Department and must think on their feet, prioritize quickly, and continually restructure their time as situations change. The role includes obtaining health histories, completing accurate physical assessments, and planning treatment. Critical thinking, sound decision-making, and strong communication skills are essential. The nurse must be able to manage unplanned situations, including interactions with patients or family members who may exhibit angry or combative behaviors.

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing as a registered nurse.
• Clinical experience in the Emergency Department.
• Current RN licensure in the State of Vermont.
• BLS Certification.
• ACLS, PALS, TNCC, and ENPC certifications, or obtain them within one year of hire.
• Critical thinking and sound decision-making skills.
• Strong communication skills.
