About The Position

Carle BroMenn Medical Center and Carle Eureka Hospital offer a Nurse Residency Program for new graduate Registered Nurses during their first several months of practice. The program supports the transition from student to professional nursing practice through facilitated learning sessions, group discussions, and reflective self-care sessions. Its content helps new graduates apply best practices, evidence-based care guidelines, and proactive nursing strategies. New graduate nurses receive a comprehensive orientation, beginning with classroom instruction and continuing with unit-based orientation alongside a unit preceptor. The residency adds classroom, simulation, virtual reality, and skills sessions led by experienced RNs and Clinical Development Specialists. Topics address core concepts for professional development and are tailored to each group. The program also includes attendance at a unit shared governance meeting and observational experiences. It is designed to build professional relationships and provide specialized support during the transition to practice. After applying, a recruiter will contact candidates to discuss the best department fit and interviews. Available tracks may include Acute Care (Surgical Ortho Unit, MOSU, Acute Rehab, PCU, and CVCU), Behavioral Health/Chemical Dependency, Emergency Department, Intensive Care, and Eureka Med/Surg. Availability depends on the number of openings; not all tracks will be available.
