About The Position

The Registered Nurse (RN) is a valued member of the interdisciplinary team within the department and organization. They are responsible for the coordination and delivery of quality patient care by assessing and identifying patient needs, implementing and monitoring the patients’ medical plan, and following HPHA policies and procedures. Additionally, the Registered Nurse must follow nursing processes within the profession’s and licensures scope of practice. They will provide education, advice and support to patients and family members.

Requirements

  • Current registered member in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario as a Registered Nurse required
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certificate required
  • Basic Cardiac Arrhythmia course required
  • 12 Lead ECG Interpretation course required
  • Ability to plan, organize and problem solve
  • Demonstrated commitment to ongoing professional development
  • Ability to work independently and as a team member
  • Excellent communication skills, written and verbal
  • Excellent physical assessment skills

Nice To Haves

  • Ability to understand and interpret typical and atypical telemetry and cardiac monitoring preferred
  • Minimum of 2 years recent clinical nursing experience in Stroke Care/Rehabilitation preferred
  • Recent/related courses, in-services in Stroke Care/Rehabilitation nursing preferred
