About The Position

The Registered Nurse NICU Traveler provides direct nursing care at multiple Ascension acute care hospitals through Ascension Premier Staffing. Local and national travel options are available depending on staffing needs, with multiple shifts available and schedules of 36–48 hours per week. The role provides care in accordance with established policies and protocols, coordinates multidisciplinary care, and supports patient care planning and discharge planning.

Requirements

• Registered Nurse licensure obtained before the hire date or job transfer date.
• BLS Provider certification obtained within 30 days of the hire date or job transfer date; American Heart Association or American Red Cross certification is accepted.
• Diploma from an accredited school or college of nursing, or required professional licensure at the time of hire.
• 1+ year of recent experience in NICU.

Nice To Haves

• Certification specializing in The S.T.A.B.L.E. Program.
• Neonatal Resuscitation certification credentialed from the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP).
• 2+ years of Level 3 NICU experience strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care following established policies and protocols.
• Implement, monitor, and record patient care plans and patient conditions.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary care and carry out physician and nursing orders.
• Assess and manage patient discharge planning with the healthcare team.
