Sentara Williamsburg Regional Medical Center in Williamsburg, Virginia is seeking a Registered Nurse for their Medical Telemetry Unit. This is a full-time, day shift position. The Registered Nurse will educate patients and their families about health conditions, treatments, and post-discharge care, empowering them to make informed decisions about their health. They will monitor and record vital signs, observe changes in patient conditions, and respond promptly with appropriate interventions. Utilizing sound clinical judgment, they will address complex health situations, consult with medical team members as needed, and document all care in accordance with regulatory and organizational standards. Sentara offers a unique 6-month Registered Nurse Transition to Practice Program for RNs with less than 12 months of experience or transitioning to a new practice area, which includes General Nursing Orientation, Specialty Clinical Track Residency, Professional Development Sessions, and Mentoring and Unit-based Preceptors. The Registered Nursing (RN) is responsible to perform a competent level of nursing care as demonstrated by the critical thinking model known as the nursing process. The standards of practice (assessment, diagnosis, outcomes identification, planning, implementation, coordination of care- teaching and health promotion and evaluation) along with the standards of professional performance (ethics, culturally congruent practice, communication, collaboration, leadership, education, evidence-based practice /nursing research, quality, evaluation, resource utilization, and environmental health) encompass the actions and foundation of professional nursing. The RN possesses clinical knowledge and skills to meet standards as required by specific clinical areas.
