About The Position

The Registered Nurse is responsible for general supervision and coordination of nursing personnel on shift, including weekends and holidays, to ensure quality and continuity of patient care. The RN uses the nursing process to assess patients, plan care, and perform care interventions, and collaborates with physicians and other healthcare clinicians in planning and implementing patient care. Additional duties within the scope of the role may be assigned.

The position is based at Baptist Medical Center South and is a regular full-time ED weekend role on third shift. The workday involves sitting 20% of the time and mobility 80% of the time. The work is indoors, protected from weather but not necessarily temperature changes, with minimal noise and substantial computer work. The role includes some exposure to infectious disease and hazardous chemicals, occasional exposure to radiation and risk of electrical shock, and frequent interaction requiring clear speech and hearing sensitivity.

Requirements

• Degree in Nursing required.
• Active RN licensure required.
• BLS certification required.
• Ability to observe, assess, and record work, safety, and infection control standards.
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
• Ability to foster a cooperative work environment.
• Effective oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to resolve customer complaints and concerns.

Nice To Haves

• Bachelor's degree preferred.
• Additional certifications such as ACLS, PALS, NRP, or TNCC may be required depending on the assigned area.
