Registered Nurse (RN) Ortho Neuro
About The Position
The Registered Nurse (RN) works in the 24-bed Ortho Neuro Surgical Care Unit at Magnet-designated Advocate Sherman Hospital in Elgin, Illinois. The unit provides care to orthopedic and neurological surgical patients and has a collaborative, supportive team that includes nurses at varying career stages and nursing assistants. The RN provides and coordinates comprehensive patient care through the nursing process, delivering safe and therapeutic care in accordance with established standards, policies, and procedures. The role applies evidence-based practice, clinical decision-making, compassionate and skilled communication, and leadership to promote patient safety and a positive patient experience across the continuum of care. This is a full-time night position, scheduled from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m., for 36 hours per week.
Requirements
- Completion of an accredited or approved nursing program.
- A Registered Nurse license issued by the state in which the teammate practices.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association.

- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
