Registered Nurse (RN) - Telemetry
About The Position
The Registered Nurse delivers safe, direct patient care in the Telemetry Unit using the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation. The nurse is accountable for the care provided to assigned patients, guides patient and family teaching, and directs the activities of other nursing personnel while maintaining standards of care. The role includes communicating with physicians about changes in a patient's clinical condition, cardiac monitoring, diagnostic study results, and symptoms, and responding quickly and accurately to changes in condition or treatment response. The hospital is recognized as a Comprehensive Stroke Center, STEMI Receiving Center, ED Approved for Pediatrics, Geriatric ED, Level III Neonatal ICU, and Level II Trauma Center.
Requirements
- Current and valid state RN license.
- Current BLS certificate upon hire and maintain current.
- Basic Arrhythmia Interpretation within 30 days of hire.
- Current ACLS certificate within 30 days of hire and maintain current.
Nice To Haves
- Previous acute care hospital experience.
- Ventilator management experience.
- Medical-Surgical Nurse-Board Certified (RN-BC) or similar certification.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
Responsibilities
- Deliver safe patient care using assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation.
- Provide direct patient care within the scope of practice.
- Guide patient and family teaching and the activities of other nursing personnel.
- Maintain standards of care in the Telemetry Unit and remain accountable for care given to assigned patients.
- Communicate with physicians about changes in patients' clinical condition, cardiac monitoring, diagnostic study results, and symptoms.
- Respond quickly and accurately to changes in patient condition or response to treatment.
