About The Position

The Registered Nurse (RN) – Orthopedics provides patient care using the nursing process and is professionally accountable for the care of assigned patients. The RN evaluates the overall effectiveness of care provided by other direct caregivers, coordinates patient care with other departments, and safeguards patient rights and confidentiality. Duties must be performed consistently with Mercy’s mission, values, and Service Standards.

This part-time position is at Mercy Hospital South in St. Louis, Missouri, scheduled for 24 hours per week on the night shift from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM.

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with an Associate Degree in Nursing, nursing diploma, or Bachelor of Science in Nursing.
• Hold and maintain a current Registered Nurse (RN) license in Missouri or compact licensure in accordance with state board of nursing regulations.
• Obtain Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association, or complete it within 30 days of hire.
• Ability to push, pull, and lift up to 50 lbs. regularly.
• Ability to stand and walk for prolonged periods throughout the shift.
• Ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat as needed to perform nursing duties.

Nice To Haves

• Previous hospital experience is preferred and may be required depending on the unit.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
• Additional state licensure or specialty certifications preferred.
• Prior experience in the specialty area or a similar clinical setting.
