About The Position

The Registered Nurse (RN) – Per Diem works in an urgent care clinic and provides patient education, telephone triage, and nursing assistance. The role assesses patient needs, fulfills team patient-care needs, serves as a resource to patient-care staff, and participates in departmental support functions. Practitioner staff may delegate activities that are within the RN scope of practice. The position works under the general supervision of the Clinic Manager. The RN supports clinical and administrative workflows to help ensure high-quality care and a smooth patient experience. The role involves regular exposure to blood-borne pathogens, diseases, and cleaning and sterilization solutions. Shifts are available on weekdays and weekends during the daytime or evening, until 9 PM. The incumbent is expected to follow organizational and departmental policies, complete assignments in a timely manner, maintain high-quality work, and represent the organization positively. Requirements

Valid Wisconsin license to practice as a Registered Nurse.
Valid Wisconsin driver license or ability to travel to various work sites; personal transportation is expected.
Possess or be eligible for a valid Healthcare Provider CPR/AED certificate; certification must be obtained within four months of employment.
Knowledge of scientific nursing principles and the ability to make quality decisions.
Ability to perform clinical skills, potentially including IV therapy, injections, and wound care, and to assist with clinic procedures.
Maintain current knowledge of nursing trends, techniques, and certifications.
Excellent patient assessment, verbal communication, listening, customer service, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
Ability to prioritize changing patient conditions, gather information through interviewing, and remain calm and resourceful in emergencies.
Ability to maintain quality, safety, infection-control, patient confidentiality, and HIPAA standards.
Ability to work with a diverse patient population in a culturally sensitive manner and maintain good working relationships with patients and staff.
Knowledge of or ability to learn computer applications, including MS Office, electronic medical records, and scheduling applications.
Type at least 30 words per minute with minimal errors.
Knowledge of medical records and documentation requirements, and basic understanding of or ability to learn medical-care reimbursement and insurance practices.
Ability to maintain a professional demeanor and work effectively as a team member.
Ability to climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, bend, reach, lift, pull, push, and carry up to 10 pounds regularly and up to 50 pounds occasionally.
Ability to stand for prolonged periods and continuously stand and transport, with occasional sitting.
Ability to speak clearly, hear conversation, and see near and far with corrected vision, including color vision and depth perception, on a frequent basis.
