About The Position
The Registered Nurse in the ICU at Ascension Saint Joseph in Chicago, Illinois provides compassionate, specialized critical care to critically ill patients. The nurse designs, implements, and continually reassesses personalized patient care plans, coordinates treatment with physicians, specialists, and allied health professionals, monitors vital signs and complex physical conditions, carries out medical orders, and promptly communicates updates to the care team. The role also involves leading discharge planning with patients, families, and healthcare team members to support a safe transition from the ICU.
Requirements
- Registered Nurse credential from the Illinois Board of Nursing, obtained before the hire or job transfer date.
- BLS Provider certification, or Instructor specializing in Basic Life Support, obtained within 30 days of the hire or job transfer date. American Heart Association or American Red Cross credentials are accepted.
- Diploma from an accredited school or college of nursing, or required professional licensure at the time of hire.
Nice To Haves
- Advanced Life Support credential; American Heart Association or American Red Cross credentials are accepted.
- One year of RN acute care experience.
Responsibilities
