About The Position

The Registered Nurse is responsible for delivering nursing care within the assigned unit’s scope of practice, following hospital policies and procedures, nursing process guidelines, and standards of care and practice. This is a casual position in the Cardio Vascular department, assigned to 6E, with variable daily work times and zero scheduled biweekly hours.

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• Current State of Michigan Registered Nurse license.
• American Heart Association or American Red Cross BLS certification as a Healthcare Provider.
• ACLS is required within six months of hire for RNs in Critical Care, Emergency, Endoscopy, Cardiac Cath Lab, Cardiac Rehab, Intensive Care Unit and Step-Down, and Telemetry Floats.
• NRP is required for RNs in Labor and Delivery.
• PALS is required for RNs in Pediatrics.
• PALS and TNCC are required within one year for the Emergency Department.
• Experience specific to the unit or position may be required to maintain the unit’s overall competency level, as required by a regulatory agency.

Nice To Haves

• Experience in a specialty area will be considered.
• One year of professional nursing experience.
• ACLS is preferred in other units.

Responsibilities

• Assess each assigned patient, document and evaluate the patient’s response to the plan of care, and take appropriate corrective action.
• Plan and implement the patient’s plan of care or standard of care, and provide patient teaching using that plan.
• Oversee ancillary personnel performing technical tasks.
