About The Position

ChristianaCare is hiring a Registered Nurse for its 18-bed Transitional Surgical Unit (TSU), a team-oriented setting associated with the Surgical Critical Care Complex. The nurse will work with a cohesive nursing team and multidisciplinary healthcare professionals to care for a diverse surgical patient population, including patients with complex surgical and trauma needs who require a higher level of monitoring and support.

The role offers experience in a fast-paced transitional care environment and opportunities to develop advanced assessment, critical-thinking, and patient-management skills. ChristianaCare supports professional growth through its Clinical Ladder Program, leadership development, specialty certifications, and continuing education. The position is full-time with rotating day and midnight shifts.

Requirements

• BSN required, or commitment to obtaining a BSN within three years of hire.
• Minimum of 1–2 years of Stepdown or Progressive Care nursing experience required.
• BLS certification required.

Nice To Haves

• Critical Care experience strongly preferred.
• ACLS certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care to a diverse surgical patient population, including complex surgical and trauma patients.
• Monitor and support patients requiring a higher level of acuity in a transitional care environment.
• Collaborate with the nursing team and multidisciplinary healthcare professionals.
