About The Position

This role provides direct clinical patient care in the Emergency Room. The Registered Nurse is responsible for assessing, planning, and implementing direct clinical care for assigned patients on a per-shift and unit-level basis. The role includes supervising staff to whom appropriate care is delegated and supporting the CNO in ensuring high-quality, safe, and appropriate nursing care, clinical staff competency, and effective resource management related to patient care.

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• Currently licensed, certified, or registered to practice the profession as required by applicable law, regulation, or policy.
• AHA BLS certification.
• AHA ACLS, PALS, and/or NRP certification if applicable under corporate policy for the unit of hire.
• One year of RN experience is required for PRN status.

Nice To Haves

• Recent acute care experience.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Nursing.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality, safe, cost-effective, total nursing care to patients.
• Coordinate and integrate patient care using the nursing process.
• Direct care in accordance with established safety, risk management, quality improvement, and infection control standards, with the goal of discharging patients after providing an optimum level of care.
• Coordinate and plan patient care within the prescribed medical regimen.
• Administer medications safely and in a timely manner according to hospital policy.
• Perform HICS responsibilities, assignments, tasks, and roles as directed and needed during emergencies or disasters.
• Know the hospital’s emergency codes, their purposes, and the appropriate actions for each, and follow related hospital policies and procedures.
• Supervise staff to whom appropriate care is delegated.
• Support the CNO in ensuring quality and safe nursing care, clinical staff competency, and appropriate resource management.
