About The Position

Under minimal supervision, the Registered Nurse provides nursing care to an assigned group of patients, matching patient needs with the nurse’s competencies. The nurse completes established position competencies within the designated introductory period and performs other related duties as assigned. The position may qualify for a sign-on bonus. Requirements vary by Emergency Department assignment (Adult ED or Pediatric ED) and include specified life-support, trauma, and crisis-intervention training within required time frames.

Requirements

Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
Current Texas State License for Registered Nurse.
For Adult ED: Active healthcare provider Basic Life Support (BLS) certification on hire from ARC or AHA; AHA Healthcare Provider BLS must be obtained within 60 days of hire.
For Adult ED: AHA ACLS must be completed within 60 days of hire or transfer into the role, preferably before the end of the orientation period.
For Adult ED: AHA PALS must be completed within 60 days of hire or transfer into the role, preferably before the end of the orientation period; PALS is not required in Adult ED at North Central Baptist Hospital.
For Adult ED: TNCC must be completed within one year of hire or transfer into the unit.
For Adult ED: Non-Violent Crisis Intervention must be obtained within 60 days of hire or transfer to the position.
For Pediatric ED: Active healthcare provider BLS certification on hire from ARC or AHA; AHA Healthcare Provider BLS must be obtained within 60 days of hire.
For Pediatric ED: AHA PALS must be completed within 60 days of hire or transfer into the role, preferably before the end of the orientation period.
For Pediatric ED: TNCC must be completed within one year of hire or transfer into the unit.
For Pediatric ED: Non-Violent Crisis Intervention must be obtained within 60 days of hire or transfer to the position.
For Pediatric ED: ENPC must be completed within 18 months of hire or transfer into the role.

Nice To Haves

Bachelor’s degree preferred.
Two years of acute-care experience preferred.
ENPC preferred.
