About The Position

The Registered Nurse provides high-quality, safe, cost-effective, total nursing care to Emergency/Trauma patients. The RN coordinates and integrates patient care according to the needs of patients and their families, and directs care in accordance with established safety, risk management, quality improvement, and infection control standards. The goal is to discharge each patient from the Emergency Department after providing an optimum level of care.

Requirements

• Education recognized by the State of Florida as qualifying for Registered Nurse licensure.
• At least one year of experience in a medical/surgical area.
• Registered Nurse license in the State of Florida.
• American Heart Association BLS and ACLS certifications.
• PALS certification within one year of employment.
• Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) certification within six months of employment.
• TNCC certification within 18 months of employment in the position.

Nice To Haves

• Two years of experience in an Emergency Room setting.
• Hazmat certification.
• ENPC certification is strongly encouraged.
• CEN certification.

Responsibilities

• Report for scheduled shifts on time and prepared to assume responsibilities.
• Attend and participate in meetings and take responsibility for information communicated at meetings.
• Adhere to corporate, regional, hospital, and departmental policies and procedures.
• Assist patients, family members, physicians, visitors, and employees in a professional and courteous manner.
• Follow infection control procedures at all times.
• Adapt care to varied age-specific patient populations.
