The Burn/ENT Special Care Unit (BESCU) provides specialized care for a diverse group of older adolescent and adult patients. The service manages individuals with acute burn injuries, complex wounds, and various skin conditions requiring advanced treatment and reconstruction. In addition, BESCU delivers expert care for Ear, Nose, and Throat (ENT) patients undergoing major head and neck cancer surgery and reconstructive procedures, including free flap reconstruction. The unit also supports patients with newly created surgical airways such as tracheostomies, laryngectomies, and stents, as well as those receiving treatment for airway stenosis and other complex ENT reconstruction surgeries. The inpatient ICU is a 10-bed unit with variable acuity. Unit Details: Integration of wound, plastic, reconstructive, and airway management expertise in one dedicated unit. The variable acuity unit ensures continuity of patient care from admission to discharge for all burn patients. Cutting-edge surgical and reconstructive techniques.
