About The Position
Paradise Valley Hospital, a member of Prime Healthcare, is hiring a Registered Nurse for its Telemetry Unit. The nurse delivers safe, direct patient care within the scope of practice, using the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation. The role includes directing and guiding patient and family teaching and the activities of other nursing personnel while maintaining standards of care. The Registered Nurse is directly responsible and accountable for the care of assigned patients and communicates with physicians about changes in clinical condition, cardiac monitoring, diagnostic study results, and symptoms. The nurse must respond quickly and accurately to changes in patient condition or response to treatment. Paradise Valley Hospital is a 291-bed acute care hospital serving the San Diego community. Its services and facilities include a spine and joint center, acute rehabilitation, a cardiac catheterization lab, inpatient and outpatient surgical services, 24-hour emergency services, and behavioral health services.
Requirements
- Current and valid state RN license.
- Current BLS certificate upon hire and maintain it current.
- Basic Arrhythmia Interpretation within 30 days of hire.
- Current ACLS certificate within 30 days of hire and maintain it current.
Nice To Haves
- Previous acute care hospital experience.
- Ventilator management experience.
- Medical-Surgical Nurse-Board Certified (RN-BC) or similar certification.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
Responsibilities
- Deliver safe patient care using assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation.
- Provide direct patient care within the scope of practice.
- Direct and guide patient and family teaching and the activities of other nursing personnel while maintaining standards of care in the Telemetry Unit.
- Remain directly responsible and accountable for the care provided to assigned patients.
- Communicate with physicians about changes in patients’ clinical conditions, including cardiac monitoring, diagnostic study results, and symptoms.
- Respond quickly and accurately to changes in patient condition or response to treatment.
