About The Position

The nurse is responsible for decisions and actions within the scope of nursing practice, promoting a safe and therapeutic environment, maintaining competence, following facility policies and standards, and supervising other staff as designated. The nurse provides care and treatment for neonatal patients from birth through their NICU stay and discharge. This includes attending high-risk deliveries in delivery rooms and operating rooms; managing ventilators; caring for and maintaining central and peripheral IVs; administering medications; supporting feeding strategies; and providing discharge teaching. The nurse follows unit protocols to deliver safe care and maintain an infection-free environment, supports patients’ families, and works with multidisciplinary teams to resolve patient needs. The role also involves measuring outcomes against care goals, making or recommending adjustments, and complying with infection-control, medication, controlled-substance, nursing, and regulatory standards. The seasonal program runs from September 20, 2026, through April 3, 2027. Seasonal nurses must work at least 72 hours per pay period, four weekend shifts per four-week schedule period, and two holiday shifts during the 32-week program. Nurses may be asked to float to a nearby facility with an emergency staffing need. Shifts may vary according to departmental needs. Seasonal staff are PRN employees, are subject to first call-off, have no guaranteed hours, and are not eligible for extra-shift bonuses. Nurses in the program have one opportunity to pass the clinical competency evaluation. Current FT/PT and PRN employees, and current HWS employees, are not eligible for the 2026–27 seasonal program. The listed pay is $65 per hour. Medical City Alliance is part of HCA Healthcare and serves communities in the Fort Worth area. Benefit eligibility may vary by location and position.
