About The Position

Select Specialty Hospital is a critical illness recovery hospital providing inpatient post-ICU services to chronic, critically ill patients who require extended healing and recovery. Registered Nurses play a central role in providing compassionate, excellent treatment throughout patients’ care. The position is located inside Methodist University Hospital in Memphis, Tennessee, and is a per diem day-shift role. The minimum per diem requirement is four shifts in a six-week period. The hospital provides an extensive orientation program to support a smooth transition into the setting. Demonstrated skills and dedication may lead to potential full-time opportunities.

Requirements

• Valid state RN license.
• BLS certification required at hire.
• ACLS certification required at hire.

• Clinical experience.

Responsibilities

• Receive admissions and/or transfers to the unit.
• Perform initial and ongoing systematic patient assessments.
• Document information accurately and promptly using appropriate systems.
• Interpret assessment and diagnostic data, including laboratory results and telemetry.
• Ensure medical orders are transcribed and processed accurately.
• Demonstrate competence in Rapid Response and code events.
• Instruct and counsel patients and families.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
