About The Position
The Registered Nurse in the Operating Room/Surgery is a key member of the surgical team, responsible for providing high-quality patient care before, during, and after surgical procedures. The role requires a commitment to maintaining patient safety and achieving optimal clinical outcomes. The position is located in Asheville, NC and is listed as travel.
Requirements
- Active and unrestricted nursing license in the state of practice.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Strong clinical skills and knowledge of surgical procedures.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- At least 2 years of experience.
Nice To Haves
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification may be required.
Responsibilities
- Deliver direct patient care in the surgical setting, adhering to established protocols and safety standards.
- Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and other team members to facilitate effective surgical procedures.
- Monitor patient status before, during, and after surgery, promptly reporting any changes to the surgical team.
- Assist in the preparation and maintenance of the operating room and surgical instruments.
- Educate patients and families about surgical procedures, recovery, and post-operative care.
- Participate in ongoing training and professional development to stay informed about the latest surgical practices and technologies.
