About The Position
Peterson Health is hiring a full-time Endoscopy Registered Nurse in Kerrville, Texas. The position works Monday through Friday, 6:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.; late and call shifts are required. During Endoscopy/Bronchoscopy procedures, the nurse advocates for patients by implementing a plan to protect them from injury, wrong-site surgery, and infection. The nurse coordinates care between providers and hospital staff, supports patients’ physical and emotional needs while assisting the physician, and accurately and completely documents care, interventions, equipment, and supplies. Applicants must graduate from an accredited school of nursing, hold an unrestricted Texas Registered Nurse license, and have current Basic Life Support, Advanced Cardiac Life Support, and Pediatric Advanced Life Support certifications. One year of RN experience in a hospital or outpatient environment is required. A Bachelor of Science in Nursing, knowledge of perioperative care, Meditech experience, and experience in an Ambulatory Surgery Center or Endoscopy Center are preferred.
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
- Current nursing assessment and patient care skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively and master new skills.
- Unrestricted Texas license as a Registered Nurse.
- Current Basic Life Support, Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), and Pediatric Advanced Life Support certifications.
- One year of RN experience in a hospital or outpatient environment.
Nice To Haves
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing.
- Knowledge of all phases of perioperative care.
- Meditech experience.
- One year of experience in an Ambulatory Surgery Center or Endoscopy Center.
- LVN or certification as a Surgical Technologist.
Responsibilities
