About The Position

Registered Nurses are invited to join the team at Orlando Health Winnie Palmer Hospital for Women & Babies in Orlando, FL. The Women’s Triage Unit at Winnie Palmer Hospital for Women and Babies (WPHWB) operates based on primary care model principles. As a Level III Perinatal Center, this unit provides a full spectrum of care for obstetrical and gynecological patients, utilizing tele-medicine for Psychiatry consults and Stroke Alert management. It serves as the receiving unit for all non-trauma emergent obstetrical ambulance patients and all transfers from other hospitals, which must be coordinated through the Orlando Regional Transfer Center in consultation with the Perinatology team. The Women's Triage Unit also offers comprehensive care for Obstetrical (OB) and Gynecological (GYN) outpatients who have been evaluated by a physician within the previous 24 hours and have an established treatment plan. If a patient requires physician evaluation at any time, they are transferred to the Women’s Triage Unit. Orlando Health Winnie Palmer Hospital for Women and Babies, located on the downtown Orlando Health campus, is part of the Orlando Health Women’s Institute. It delivers specialized care across all facets of women’s health, including comprehensive gynecological services, minimally invasive surgeries, general obstetrics, and high-risk pregnancies and births. As one of the nation’s largest-volume and most experienced obstetrical centers, the hospital welcomes nearly 14,000 babies annually. The 350-bed facility includes 142 neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) beds, making it one of the largest NICUs in the country. Requirements

  • Graduate of an approved school of nursing
  • Meets all mandatory, developmental, and performance competency requirements for Orlando Health and unit/department
  • Maintains current licensure as a registered nurse in the State of Florida or Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC)
  • Maintains current BLS/Healthcare Provider certification
  • ACLS, NRP, PALS, TNCC are required for certain areas
  • At least one(1) year of experience as an OB/GYN, or L&D Registered Nurse
