We are seeking an experienced and patient-focused Triage Nurse (RN/LPN) to join our OB/GYN team. This role is essential in coordinating patient care, providing clinical guidance, and ensuring timely and effective communication between patients and providers. The ideal candidate brings strong clinical judgment, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to delivering high-quality, evidence-based women’s healthcare in a fast-paced outpatient setting.

Requirements

  • Current RN or LPN license in the State of Utah
  • Minimum of 2 years of OB/GYN experience, preferably in an outpatient or clinic setting
  • Strong clinical judgment, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Professional, team-oriented attitude with a focus on patient-centered care
  • Advanced knowledge of women’s health, pregnancy care, and related conditions
  • Proficiency in telephone triage and clinical documentation
  • Experience with IV therapy and in-office diagnostic testing
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines with minimal supervision
  • Calm and effective response in high-pressure or urgent situations

Responsibilities

  • Perform accurate telephone triage, assess patient needs, and provide appropriate guidance under provider direction
  • Evaluate and respond to walk-in patients, documenting care promptly
  • Review patient history and process medication refill requests within two business days
  • Assign and annotate lab results, ensuring timely follow-up on abnormal findings
  • Administer medications via oral, subcutaneous, intradermal, intramuscular, and IV routes following safe medication practices
  • Initiate, monitor, and discontinue IV therapy, including IV push medications and fluids
  • Perform and document clinical tests such as NSTs, urinalysis, strep testing, hemoglobin, and other in-office diagnostics
  • Assist providers with in-office procedures and ensure informed consent is obtained
  • Manage triage lists and EMR task queues to ensure timely patient communication and follow-up
  • Coordinate referrals, medical records, and consult requests within one business day
  • Schedule appointments, diagnostic tests, and procedures per provider instructions
  • Maintain clean, organized, and well-stocked clinical areas
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA, HIPAA, and clinic policies
  • Participate in value-based care initiatives to improve patient outcomes
  • Serve as a clinical resource for patient care within the office
  • Communicate effectively and professionally with patients, providers, and team members
  • Participate in team meetings and contribute to a collaborative work environment
