About The Position

SENTARA NORTHERN VIRGINIA MEDICAL CENTER in Woodbridge, Virginia is seeking a REGISTERED NURSE for the EMERGENCY DEPARTMENT for a 14-week temporary position. This is a 'primary' position, meaning no scheduling around other jobs, and flexibility in scheduling is required. Requirements

• Associate's Degree – Nursing OR Bachelor’s Degree – Nursing OR Diploma in Nursing
• TNCC, ACLS, BLS, PALS, NIHSS certifications
• Registered Nurse license eligible to practice in VA
• AT LEAST 2 years of RECENT HOSPITAL EMERGENCY DEPT as an RN REQUIRED
• EPIC user STRONGLY preferred

Responsibilities

• Performing a competent level of nursing care as demonstrated by the critical thinking model known as the nursing process.
• Assessment, diagnosis, outcomes identification, planning, implementation, coordination of care- teaching and health promotion and evaluation.
• Adhering to standards of professional performance including ethics, culturally congruent practice, communication, collaboration, leadership, education, evidence-based practice/nursing research, quality, evaluation, resource utilization, and environmental health.
• Possessing clinical knowledge and skills to meet standards as required by specific clinical areas.
