About The Position

Vanderbilt University Medical Center's Department of Nursing Strategic Programs, through the Vanderbilt Medical Center Staffing Collaborative, is seeking Registered Nurses for 13-week assignments within specific units. This role offers an alternative nursing employment structure, similar to travel nursing, providing premium pay and optional health benefits. The Staffing Collaborative aims to fulfill critical scheduling needs across the organization, with assignments potentially requiring work on weekends and holidays. Minimum requirements align with full-time staff expectations for each unit. This is a temporary, full-time position focused on covering shifts most needed by the unit.

Requirements

  • Registered Nurse Required
  • Graduate of an approved discipline-specific program (or equivalent experience)
  • 1 year of Trauma Stepdown RN experience
  • Registered Nurse
  • BLS, ACLS, and PALS

Nice To Haves

  • Preferred 2 or more years of recent Trauma Stepdown RN experience

Responsibilities

  • Applies the nursing process to plan and manage the care of complex patients in a comprehensive manner.
  • Recognizes complex learning needs and prepares individual teaching plans for patients/families and consistently demonstrates effective patient education to peers.
  • Ensures a comprehensive continuum of care plan in collaboration with the health care team.
  • Demonstrates and role models effective communication and conflict resolution skills.
  • Ensures evidence-based care and continuously monitors patient outcomes.
