About The Position
Vanderbilt University Medical Center (VUMC) is seeking a Registered Nurse for a temporary assignment in their TempForce Nursing Collaborative. This role involves providing care for complex patients, developing teaching plans, and collaborating with the healthcare team to ensure a comprehensive continuum of care. The Staffing Collaborative supports VUMC's nursing needs by offering alternative employment options, similar to travel nursing, with 13-week assignments within specific units. This position offers premium pay and optional health benefits, with assignments potentially requiring work on weekends and holidays. Minimum requirements will align with full-time staff expectations for each unit.
Requirements
- Registered Nurse Required
- Graduate of an approved discipline-specific program (or equivalent experience)
- 1 year of recent RN Stepdown experience
- Registered Nurse
- BLS, ACLS, and PALS
Nice To Haves
- Preferred 2 or more years of recent RN Stepdown experience
Responsibilities
- Applies the nursing process to plan and manage the care of complex patients in a comprehensive manner.
- Recognizes complex learning needs and prepares individual teaching plans for patients/families and consistently demonstrates effective patient education to peers.
- Consistently ensures a comprehensive continuum of care plan in collaboration with the health care team.
- Demonstrates and role models effective communication and conflict resolution skills.
- Ensures evidence-based care and continuously monitors patient outcomes.
- Furthers professional growth by engaging in learning activities according to Board of Nursing standards.
- Floats across entities to fulfill requirements of the role.
- Collaborates in establishing the plan of care, coordinates and implements care delivery while anticipating patient care needs across the continuum.
- Analyzes comprehensive information pertinent to the patient's care and management to determine nursing diagnosis.
- Continually utilizes the nursing process to evaluate patient's progress towards goals and applies appropriate interventions to ensure effective outcomes.
- Employs strategies to promote health and a safe and healthy environment.
