About The Position
Vanderbilt University Medical Center (VUMC) is seeking a Registered Nurse for a temporary assignment in the Stepdown unit at Vanderbilt Clarksville Hospital. This role is part of the TempForce Nursing Collaborative, which offers alternative nursing employment within the VUMC Health System. As a Staffing Collaborative nurse, you will work 13-week assignments, similar to a travel nurse, within a specific unit. The Staffing Collaborative aims to support VUMC's significant scheduling needs across the organization. This position offers premium pay and optional health benefits. Assignments may require working weekends and holidays. Minimum requirements will align with expectations for full-time staff in each unit.
Requirements
- Registered Nurse Required
- Graduate of an approved discipline-specific program (or equivalent experience)
- 1 year of recent RN Stepdown experience
- Registered Nurse
- BLS, ACLS, and PALS
Nice To Haves
- Preferred 2 or more years of recent RN Stepdown experience
Responsibilities
- Applies the nursing process to plan and manage the care of complex patients in a comprehensive manner.
- Recognizes complex learning needs and prepares individual teaching plans for patients/families and consistently demonstrates effective patient education to peers.
- Consistently ensures a comprehensive continuum of care plan in collaboration with the health care team.
- Demonstrates and role models effective communication and conflict resolution skills.
- Ensures evidence-based care and continuously monitors patient outcomes.
- Floats across entities to fulfill requirements of the role.
- Collaborates in establishing the plan of care, coordinates and implements care delivery while anticipating patient care needs across the continuum.
- Analyzes comprehensive information pertinent to the patient's care and management to determine nursing diagnosis.
- Continually utilizes the nursing process to evaluate patient's progress towards goals and applies appropriate interventions to ensure effective outcomes.
- Employs strategies to promote health and a safe and healthy environment.
