About The Position

Vanderbilt Health is the region’s largest comprehensive academic health system, with eight hospitals and over 180 clinics. This role is within the Transplant/General Surgery Unit and involves applying the nursing process to plan and implement patient care, including education and continuum of care planning. The nurse will effectively communicate pertinent patient/family information to the healthcare team, collaborate in establishing patient goals, and evaluate progress. Professional growth is encouraged through learning activities aligned with Board of Nursing standards. Requirements

At least 1 year of RN experience
Nursing degree
State or Compact License (TN license within 60 days of getting TN address even if compact license)
Care Planning (Novice)
Nursing Patient Education (Novice)
Nursing Patient Assessment & Evaluation (Novice)
Evidence-Based Practice (Novice)
Relevant Work Experience
1 year experience level
Graduate of an approved discipline specific program

Responsibilities

Applies the nursing process to plan and implement the care of patients, including patient and family education and continuum of care planning.
Effectively communicates pertinent patient/family information to the health care team.
Collaborates in establishing patient goals and evaluates progress to ensure effective outcomes.
Furthers professional growth by engaging in learning activities according to the Board of Nursing standards.
Care for patients with disorders of the kidney, liver, pancreas, including end-stage liver/kidney disease, surgical weight loss, peritoneal dialysis, and pre- through post-transplant of the kidney, liver, pancreas.
Collaborates in establishing the plan of care, coordinates and implements care delivery while anticipating patient care needs across the continuum.
Analyzes comprehensive information pertinent to the patient's care and management to determine nursing diagnosis.
Continually utilizes the nursing process to evaluate patient's progress towards goals and applies appropriate interventions to ensure effective outcomes.
Employs strategies to promote health and a safe and healthy environment.
