Registered Nurse (RN) - Transfer Center
About The Position
The Registered Nurse Transfer Center is responsible for managing and coordinating all aspects of the transfer process. This role involves coordinating direct admissions and hospital transfers to and from community hospitals, with the goal of transferring each patient to an appropriate Tenet hospital. The nurse will foster collaborative relationships with referring facilities, physicians, and hospital staffs, representing Tenet Healthcare's Mission and Values. Additionally, the position serves as a clinical resource for non-nursing transfer center staff, making clinical decisions and ensuring appropriate documentation. A working knowledge of EMTALA and other patient transfer regulations is essential. The role utilizes applicable systems to facilitate bed flow and expedite patient placement. The nurse will also complete established competencies within the designated introductory period and perform other related duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Graduate of accredited school of Nursing
- 4 years of experience in an acute care setting
- Current Texas State License for Registered Nurse
Nice To Haves
- Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university
- ER/Critical Care or in a charge nurse, house supervisor or other management experience.
