About The Position

Join the Department of Human Services (DHS) as a Registered Nurse Supervisor and help lead essential nursing operations at the Selinsgrove Center. In this role, you will support both staff and individuals by guiding clinical practices and promoting high standards of care. Your leadership will help ensure safety, teamwork, and strong communication throughout the facility. Requirements

  • Three years as a Registered Nurse (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or Four years of professional nursing experience providing care and treatment services consistent with those needed for individuals with a mental or physical injury or illness and/or a developmental disability.
  • Active authorization to practice as a Registered Nurse in Pennsylvania.
  • All employees possessing an active temporary practice permit must obtain licensure as a Registered Nurse within the one (1) year period defined by the Pennsylvania State Board of Nursing.
  • Must be able to perform essential job functions.
  • A conditional offer of employment will require a medical examination.
  • This position falls under the provisions of the Older Adult Protective Services Act. Under the Act, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports, including but not limited to, PA State Police and FBI clearance.

Responsibilities

  • Guide nursing staff in providing safe, effective, and person-centered care
  • Direct non-professional staff and support daily operations across assigned areas
  • Monitor nursing services to ensure compliance with policies, standards, and regulations
  • Provide instruction, feedback, and professional guidance to staff on health practices and procedures
  • Review treatment plans, assess clinical needs, and ensure accurate documentation of services
  • Promote a safe and therapeutic environment through risk management and infection control activities
