About The Position

The Registered Nurse Supervisor supports nursing practice, nursing service administration, and care delivery in the Atrium Health Cabarrus Operating Room. The role assists the manager with supervising nursing personnel, coordinating communication among teammates, ensuring compliance with applicable laws and policies, and evaluating patient care and department operations. The supervisor also performs nursing care and helps coordinate patient flow and staffing based on volume and acuity needs. The Operating Room serves patients across specialties including orthopedics, robotics, cardiovascular, pediatrics, neuro, spine, plastics, and general surgery. The department offers exposure to complex procedures and technologies such as DaVinci robotics and a collaborative team environment. This full-time position is based in Concord, North Carolina. The schedule consists of three 12-hour shifts, Monday through Friday, from 10:30 a.m. to 11:00 p.m., with holiday, weekend, and on-call requirements. The listed pay range is $44.15–$66.25. A sign-on bonus may be available to applicants who have not received a company sign-on bonus for another role within the past 24 months.

Requirements

Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing.
Current RN licensure in the appropriate state.
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required. External hires or internal promotions without a BSN must enroll in a BSN program within one year of hire or transfer and complete it within three years of enrollment.
Basic Life Support (BLS) required per policy guidelines.
Appropriate professional certification, clinical or leadership, required within one year of eligibility for the certification exam.
Ability to speak and understand English fluently.
Ability to lift and support 35 pounds when handling patients, medical equipment, and supplies.
Intact senses of sight, hearing, smell, and touch; finger dexterity; critical thinking; and ability to concentrate.
Additional education, training, certifications, or experience may be required by the department's nurse leader.

Nice To Haves

Minimum of two years of nursing experience preferred.
Previous management experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Support the manager in enhancing the quality and effectiveness of nursing practice, nursing service administration, and care delivery.
Assist with interviewing, selecting, and supervising nursing personnel.
Coordinate communication throughout shifts, including staff meetings and huddles, to exchange information and promote dialogue.
Collaborate with the manager to support understanding of and compliance with federal and state laws, regulations, and policies.
Round on patients, teammates, and physicians at prescribed intervals to assess satisfaction, appropriateness of care, and department operations.
Delegate elements of care to appropriate healthcare workers within applicable legal and policy parameters.
Help identify expected outcomes to guide continuity of care and department operations.
Assist in evaluating progress toward goals and expected outcomes and share relevant information with teammates involved in care or operations.
Provide nursing care, assist with treatments, therapies, and procedures, and administer medications as necessary.
Coordinate patient flow, throughput, and staffing by assessing volume and acuity needs and using available resources to support appropriate staffing.
