About The Position

The Registered Nurse (RN) in the Observation Unit assesses patients assigned to observation status and provides skilled nursing care according to physician orders and nursing standards. The role provides direct patient care, evaluates treatment effectiveness, collaborates with the healthcare team to update care plans, and accurately processes and implements physician orders.

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of Observation Unit experience.
• Active Michigan RN license.
• Current American Heart Association BLS certification.

Responsibilities

• Assess patients assigned to observation status and provide skilled nursing care according to physician orders and nursing standards.
• Provide direct patient care, including medication administration, treatments, transfers, and responding to alarms and call lights.
• Evaluate treatment effectiveness and collaborate with the healthcare team to update care plans.
• Process and implement physician orders accurately and promptly.
• Follow up on medication changes and clarify orders as needed.
