Registered Nurse (RN) Clinical Observation
About The Position
The Registered Nurse (RN) works in the 28-bed Clinical Observation Unit at Advocate Condell Medical Center in Libertyville, Illinois. The unit provides outpatient care to observation patients who need monitoring or treatment beyond emergency department regimens. Patients have a range of medical and surgical diagnoses and an expected stay of less than 24 hours. The RN joins a collaborative nursing team that includes new graduates, experienced nurses, and nursing assistants. The RN provides and coordinates comprehensive patient care through the nursing process, delivering safe and therapeutic care in accordance with established standards, policies, and procedures. The role uses evidence-based practice, clinical decision-making, communication skills, and compassion to help create a safe patient environment and a positive care experience across the continuum.
Requirements
- Completion of an accredited or approved nursing program.
- Registered Nurse license issued by the state in which the teammate practices.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association.
