About The Position

Delivers professional and technical nursing care to patients in compliance with the practice’s objectives and policies, as well as licensing and regulatory agency guidelines. Uses the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation when delivering care. Prepares equipment and assists physicians during patient treatments and examinations. Strong critical-thinking skills and the ability to work in a stressful, fast-paced environment are essential.

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
• Current Registered Nurse license in the State of Florida.
• Current American Heart Association BLS for Healthcare Provider certification.
• Strong critical-thinking skills.
• Ability to work in a stressful, fast-paced environment.

Nice To Haves

• EMR/EHR experience.
• NextGen or Athena experience.

Responsibilities

• Clearly and concisely communicate patient assessments and reassessments in charting; ensure documentation meets current standards, policies, and procedures.
• Demonstrate knowledge and ability to provide care for the age-specific needs of the population served.
• Notify the physician if the history and physical, informed consent, or appropriate test results are missing from the chart or unsigned.
• Observe behavioral and physiological changes due to medications, take appropriate action, and document accordingly.
• Recognize physical changes, respond within standards of care, and report significant findings within a timeframe appropriate to their seriousness.
• Ensure core measure and meaningful use standards are met in accordance with policies and procedures.
• Anticipate physicians’ routine needs and provide support in a timely manner.
• Administer and document medications according to policies and procedures.
• Exercise independent patient-care judgment in collaboration with the team.
• Provide appropriate education to patients and families.
• Prepare equipment and assist physicians during treatments and examinations.
