About The Position
The Registered Nurse (RN) uses the nursing process to deliver, direct, and supervise care for patients admitted to the nursing unit. The role includes planning, coordinating, and providing patient care, interdisciplinary planning, discharge planning, patient and family education for post-hospitalization, and accessing community resources. The nurse may perform other related duties as assigned or requested, including Charge Nurse duties when qualified.
Requirements
- Current registered nurse (RN) licensure in the state where the hospital is located, or compact licensure if the state participates.
- Current BLS certification is required.
- Evidence of ACLS certification is required within 90 days of employment; certifications must be AHA approved.
- Current ACLS certification is required for Charge Nurses.
Nice To Haves
- One year of inpatient medical-surgical nursing experience is preferred but not required.
Responsibilities
- Deliver, direct, and supervise patient care using the nursing process.
- Plan, coordinate, and provide patient care, including interdisciplinary planning and discharge planning.
- Teach patients and families about post-hospitalization care.
- Access community resources for patients.
- Perform other related duties as assigned or requested; Charge Nurse duties require current ACLS certification.
