This is a 13-week temporary assignment for a Registered Nurse (RN) in the MICU (Medical Intensive Care Unit) in Newport News, Virginia. The RN works under the supervision of the Nurse Manager and Director, responsible for the assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of total nursing care for assigned patients. The role involves working in various settings within the Critical Care Complex at Riverside Health System. The RN utilizes communication, critical thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making skills to develop patient care plans, considering physiological, psychosocial, and cultural diversity. They are also responsible for supervising and delegating tasks to non-professional personnel to ensure optimal patient care. Competence in managing age-related needs of patients in Critical Care/Telemetry units is essential. The RN works collaboratively with leadership and a multi-disciplinary team to provide comprehensive clinical care in accordance with Riverside Health System's standards and strategic goals.
