About The Position

This is a temporary, full-time (12-week assignment) Registered Counselor opportunity in California. The counselor will be responsible for offering support and assistance to patients enrolled in Medication Assisted Treatment for opioid use disorder. Utilizing evidence-based practices and a trauma-informed approach, the counselor will help patients develop individualized coping techniques and symptom management skills that enable them to experience improved quality of life. Through collaboration with doctors, nurses, and a multidisciplinary team, the counselor will play a vital role in evaluating patient progress and developing an individualized plan of care. BAART Programs is a progressive substance abuse treatment organization committed to the highest quality of patient care in a comfortable outpatient clinic setting. Our ultimate goal is to address the physical, emotional, and mental aspects of opioid use disorder to help each of our patients achieve long-term recovery and an improved quality of life.

Requirements

Registered Counselor in the State of California.
Must demonstrate a positive, non-judgmental, and accepting attitude toward our patient population.
Satisfactory drug screen and criminal background check.

Nice To Haves

Previous experience working with chemically dependent individuals a plus.

Responsibilities

Provide individual and group counseling services; direct service at regularly scheduled intervals based on patient need, best practices and state regulations; coordinate all services throughout treatment.
Conducts initial assessment and evaluation to determine eligibility for services.
Complete Bio-psychosocial assessment.
Establish individualized treatment plan with each patient and review as clinically indicated.
Respond, as needed, to patient grievances and complaints.
Develop aftercare and discharge plans.
Other related duties as determined by supervisor.
