About The Position

Virtua Health is hiring a full-time Registered Nurse for its Emergency Department at the Mount Holly location. The position is on-site and works a second shift, with 36 total weekly hours. The RN assesses, diagnoses, plans, implements, and evaluates patient care using outcome identification and evidence-based practice. As an integral member of the healthcare team, the RN coordinates care and communicates and collaborates with team members, patients, and patients’ families or significant others while maintaining high standards of professional ethics.

Requirements

Demonstrated knowledge of nursing skills, hospital practices, procedures, and standards.
Must maintain and develop nursing skills and stay current with nursing practice through ongoing education, journals, and other means.
Strong communication skills.
Ability to coordinate the efforts of a team of care providers.
Valid New Jersey RN license; approved licenses must be presented and maintained according to the State of New Jersey Licensing Board requirements.

Responsibilities

Assess patients and develop, implement, and evaluate plans of care.
Administer, monitor, and document therapeutic interventions and treatment regimens.
Effectively manage rapidly changing situations.
Participate in clinical decision-making.
Educate patients and their families or responsible parties about disease processes, individual care needs, wellness, and safety issues.
Delegate and monitor care provided by other members of the nursing department and healthcare team.
Apply standard precautions and patient safety principles in practice.
Participate in orientation, education, and development of the healthcare team.
Identify and participate in performance improvement activities.
Maintain professional and departmental competencies.
