About The Position

Mercyhealth Hospital and Trauma Center is seeking experienced Registered Nurses for its Ortho/Neuro Unit in Janesville, Wisconsin. The role uses the nursing process and works with interdisciplinary team members to provide patient care. The position is scheduled for 12-hour day shifts, 6:30 AM–7:00 PM. Every other weekend and holiday coverage are required, and floating to other units may be required. Education verification is required.

Requirements

• At least 1 year of nursing experience.
• Current Wisconsin nursing license.
• Certification in NIHSS.
• Certification in CPR/BLS.
• Education verification is required.

Responsibilities

• Utilize the nursing process and collaborate with interdisciplinary team members in patient care.
• Administer prescribed medications and treatments using approved nursing techniques and in accordance with policies, procedures, standards of care, and state laws and practice acts.
• Document care provided according to established standards.
• Develop, initiate, and execute individualized patient care plans prescribed by physicians and consistent with hospital policies, including patient and family instruction.
• Participate in departmental or unit performance improvement initiatives, including shared governance.
• Provide clinical expertise and guidance to other units and departments to support the patient’s longitudinal care plan.
• Use critical thinking to support patient safety and experience, and escalate concerns through appropriate channels.
• Cover every other weekend and holidays.
