About The Position

Join Cleveland Clinic at Hillcrest Hospital, a Magnet Hospital recognized by the American Nurses Credentialing Center for excellence in professional nursing practice. The RN works on the 4 West Tower Complex Medical Care unit, serving adult and geriatric patients receiving orthopaedic surgery, neurosurgery, trauma, medical, surgical, and telemetry care. Clinical specialties include heart conditions, vascular and neurological diseases, and congestive heart failure. As a Level 2 trauma unit, the department offers a fast-paced environment where nurses help patients receive timely care and collaborate with a supportive caregiver team.

This position works days from 7:00 a.m. to 7:30 p.m., with every-other-weekend and holiday rotation requirements. The RN provides and coordinates nursing care, monitors patient conditions, administers medications and treatments, and supports patients and families through education and discharge planning.

Requirements

• Graduate from an accredited School of Professional Nursing (Diploma, ADN, or BSN).
• Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN).
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross.
• One year of current acute care RN experience or military RN experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care.
• Implement and monitor patient care plans.
• Monitor, record, and communicate patients’ conditions.
• Evaluate, update, and revise plans of care to facilitate planned and expected outcomes.
• Note and carry out physician and nursing orders.
• Assess and coordinate patients’ discharge needs.
• Educate patients and families using educational materials while considering cultural issues and other special concerns.
• Administer prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with approved nursing protocol.
