About The Position

Under minimal supervision, the Registered Nurse provides nursing care for an assigned group of patients, matching patient needs with the nurse’s competencies. The nurse completes established competencies for the position within the designated introductory period and performs other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Possess a current Texas State License for Registered Nurse.
• Have active healthcare provider Basic Life Support (BLS) on hire from ARC or AHA; obtain AHA Healthcare Provider BLS within 60 days of hire.
• For Labor & Delivery: complete AHA ACLS within 60 days of hire or transfer into the role; it should be completed before the end of the orientation period.
• For Labor & Delivery or nurses floated into L&D: complete AHA NRP within 60 days of hire or transfer into the role; it should be completed before the end of the orientation period.
• For novice RNs in L&D and Antepartum: complete GNOSIS introduction to Fetal Heart Monitoring within 30 days of hire or transfer into the unit and AWHONN Intermediate Heart Monitoring within 8 months of L&D orientation.
• For experienced L&D RNs with more than one year of experience: have AWHONN Advanced Fetal Heart Monitoring on hire or obtain it within the first 90 days of hire.
• For Level 2 Nursery: provide proof of prior S.T.A.B.L.E. completion or obtain it within 6 months of hire or transfer into the unit; renewal is not required.
• For Pediatrics: complete AHA PALS within 60 days of hire or transfer into the role.

Nice To Haves

• Bachelor’s degree.
• Two years of experience in acute care.
• Previous clinical nursing experience.
