About The Position

The Clinical Nurse is an engaged and credentialed member of the Professional Nursing Organization, responsible for autonomous practice guided by the professional tenets of practitioner, leader/decision maker, scientist, and transferor. The nurse uses the nursing process to provide evidence-based care and continuously monitors and evaluates practice to ensure safe passage for patients in the best interest of the populations served.

The position is full-time, 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Requirements

• Graduate from an accredited nursing program.
• Licensed Registered Nurse with New Hampshire eligibility.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certificate required upon hire.

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).

Responsibilities

• Use the nursing process to assess, diagnose, identify outcomes, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized plans of care.
• Use critical thinking and the nursing process to anticipate and recognize changes in patient status, modifying the care plan or escalating concerns to the care team as needed.
• Advocate for patients, uphold their autonomy in decision-making, ensure informed consent, and help patients and families express self-determination in accordance with the ANA Code of Ethics.
• Seek feedback and take action to improve performance; engage in the governance of practice.
• Manage interpersonal relationships with colleagues and others.
• Mentor colleagues to advance nursing practice and the profession.
• Take authority and accountability for patient nursing care while appropriately delegating care to other care-team members in accordance with applicable laws, regulations, policies, and procedures.
• Prioritize and organize time to optimize patient outcomes.
• Seek and apply current evidence and standards in daily practice.
• Promote a culture of inquiry and contribute to research, quality improvement, and evidence-based practice at the local level.
• Communicate effectively in a variety of formats across practice settings.
• Partner with others to effect change and improve outcomes through the exchange of knowledge.
• Precept student nurses, nurse externs, nurse residents, experienced clinical nurses, and other healthcare-team members.
• Perform other duties as required or assigned.
