Registered Nurse (RN) - MedSurg Weekend Warrior
About The Position
Avita Health System is seeking Registered Nurses to work in the MedSurg Department as Weekend Warriors. The position floats between Avita’s three hospitals in Bucyrus, Galion, and Ontario. The nurse assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates nursing care for patients in the unit; provides direct care and supervises care delivered by nursing assistants, LPNs, and support staff; and helps ensure continuity of care between shifts. The role also includes patient and family education and advocacy in support of the organization’s mission. The schedule is 24 hours per week, working either Friday and Saturday or Saturday and Sunday, with a choice of 7:00 AM–7:00 PM or 7:00 PM–7:00 AM shifts.
Requirements
- At least two years of previous nursing experience.
- Current Registered Nurse licensure in the State of Ohio.
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications.
Nice To Haves
- Critical care experience is highly preferred.
- Previous telemetry experience.
- PALS certification for charge-trained nurses.
Responsibilities
- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care for patients in the nursing unit.
- Provide direct patient care and supervise care provided by nursing assistants, LPNs, and support staff.
- Ensure continuity of patient care between shifts.
- Participate in patient and family teaching.
- Act as a patient advocate while supporting the organization’s mission.
- Float between Avita Health System’s three hospitals.
