Registered Nurse (RN) – Mental Health Float Pool
About The Position
Fairview is hiring a Registered Nurse for the Mental Health Float Pool at M Health Fairview University of Minnesota Medical Center - West Bank in Minneapolis, Minnesota. The Behavioral Health department serves children and adolescents, adults, and seniors. The position is 0.75 FTE (60 hours every two weeks), with 12-hour night shifts from 7 p.m. to 7:30 a.m. and work every third weekend. The nurse assesses patients’ physical and mental health needs and uses those assessments to plan care. In collaboration with the interdisciplinary team, the nurse contributes to individualized treatment plans, administers medications according to behavioral-patient management policy, and evaluates and revises nursing interventions to address patients’ emotional, psychological, and physical needs.
Requirements
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) licensure.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers.
Nice To Haves
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
- 1–3 years of ECT experience.
- Geriatric psychiatric experience.
Responsibilities
- Assess patients’ physical and mental health needs, including relevant disease processes, therapies, complications, and expected outcomes, to guide care planning.
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to develop individualized treatment plans and comprehensive plans of care.
- Administer medications according to behavioral-patient management policy, with knowledge of medication actions, contraindications, side effects, and desired outcomes.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of nursing interventions in meeting patients’ emotional, psychological, and physical needs, and revise interventions based on outcomes.
