About The Position

Hemingford Care Center is a skilled nursing and rehabilitation community serving residents who receive long-term and short-term care. The Registered Nurse provides consistent, knowledgeable, compassionate care to a geriatric population and works as part of a supportive, team-oriented environment. This is a part-time weekend position.

Requirements

• Hold a current, active Registered Nurse license in the state of employment.
• Be able to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical information in English.
• Have full range of body motion, including the ability to handle and lift patients.
• Be able to stand for long periods and lift, push, or pull 50 pounds.
• Be able to see and hear, or use prosthetics that enable these senses to function adequately to meet the position's requirements.

Nice To Haves

• Experience in long-term geriatric nursing care.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, administer, and document medications, tests, treatments, and IV lines.
• Record time spent performing individual treatments on the medication/treatment record in accordance with ancillary services policy.
• Ensure proper storage and security of drugs and biologicals in accordance with facility policies and procedures.
• Notify the physician of medication or treatment refusals, non-compliance with treatment plans, resident responses to medication regimens, and adverse reactions.
• Keep the medication cart, refrigerator, and room neat and clean; store and dispose of medications properly.
• Assist with orientation and training of new nursing personnel as required.
• Practice, implement, and supervise infection control, universal precaution, and safety policies and procedures.
