About The Position

Frye Regional Medical Center is hiring a Registered Nurse for its 8-bed Medical Intensive Care Unit (MICU). The unit cares for critically ill patients in a fast-paced environment and is described as having exceptional teamwork, a supportive culture, engaged leadership, and opportunities for professional growth. The role is scheduled for three 12-hour night shifts, with self-scheduling available. The RN assesses patients and identifies their needs, initiates appropriate nursing interventions, provides care suited to each patient's condition and age, documents medical necessity in the medical record, completes and revises each patient's Interdisciplinary Care Plan, and performs timely, accurate quality-improvement assessments. The position offers a commitment-incentive bonus of $10,000–$20,000 and a range of benefits and development opportunities.

Requirements

Current North Carolina RN license (single-state) or compact license; relocating nurses must update licensure to their new Primary State of Residence before employment begins.
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 30 days of hire.
Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certifications within six months of hire.
One year of experience.

Nice To Haves

Bachelor’s degree preferred but not required.
Two years of ICU experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Accurately perform patient assessments and identify patient needs.
Identify and initiate appropriate nursing interventions.
Provide care appropriate to the patient's condition and age.
Complete timely and appropriate documentation relating to medical necessity in the medical record.
Complete and revise the Interdisciplinary Care Plan for each patient.
Perform timely and accurate quality-improvement assessments.
