About The Position

The purpose of this position is to provide nursing care to patients. The framework for practice will be the nursing process in order to prescribe, delegate and coordinate nursing care. The RN has contact with patients, patient families and visitors, LRH employees, referral agencies, volunteers, administration, and physicians. Effective interpersonal and communication skills are essential for this position. The RN must be able to supervise patient care, secure cooperation from others, problem-solve, and exercise initiative and judgement. We deliver around 325 babies each year in our Level II nursery. We care for the pediatric and gynecologic needs of our area as well. Requirements

  • Graduate of a school of nursing.
  • Current licensure in Minnesota.
  • Current Healthcare Provider level CPR certification upon hire or must be obtained within 6 months.
  • NRP certification upon hire or must be obtained within 6 months.
  • Successful completion of the pre-employment health screening process.
  • Must be able to attend the work site per schedule.

Nice To Haves

  • At least one year of Medical/Surgical experience or experience with labor and delivery.
  • Six months of medical/surgical experienced preferred.
  • Obstetric/nursery, triage, and pediatric experience preferred.
  • PALS and S.T.A.B.L.E. certifications are required, or to be obtained with one year.
  • Fetal Heart Monitoring beginner course to be obtained prior to labor and delivery orientation; intermediate course to be obtained within 2 years of practice; advanced course to be obtained after 5 years of practice.
