About The Position

This is a full-time night position for a Registered Nurse (RN) on the Surgical Inpatient unit at Texas Health Frisco. The unit is a 16-bed fast-paced surgical unit with quick turnover, and it primarily handles surgical patients but also takes med/surg overflow. The nurse-to-patient ratio is typically 1:4, sometimes 1:5. The role involves delivering care to patients using the Nursing Process, including assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation, while incorporating age-specific safety and infection control measures. The nurse will also initiate actions to meet patient information needs and maintain continuity of care between shifts and across different care settings.

Requirements

Nursing Diploma
Associate degree from an accredited Nursing program
One-year experience as a registered nurse, or completion of an RN residency program.
RN must practice within the regulations of the Texas Nurse Practice Act, serve as a role model, intra/interdisciplinary collaborator and coordinator for quality patient care
BCLS - upon hire - expiration date greater than 3 months preferred
ACLS - upon hire required
CPI - Crisis Prevention Intervention Training - within 60 days of hire

Nice To Haves

BSN preferred
One year of Emergency experience strongly preferred
1-2 years charge experience in Medical Surgical preferred

Responsibilities
